Mr Bruce Okoye

Mr Okoye is a Consultant Paediatric, Adolescent and Neonatal Surgeon at St Georges Hospital, London, and an Honorary Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at the Royal Marsden Hospital.

He obtained his paediatric surgical training at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool, Bristol Royal Children’s Hospital, Diana Princess of Wales Children’s Hospital, Birmingham and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is one of the UK's most experienced surgeons in the care of children with surgical conditions.

He treats the full range of general surgical conditions in childhood such as hernias, undescended testes, phimosis, and abdominal pain. In addition, Mr Okoye has a special interest in the treatment of solid childhood tumours, complex gastrointestinal problems and in paediatric thoracic surgery. He is also very experienced in the use of laparoscopic procedures in children.

Mr Okoye is a member of the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons and former Chair of its trauma committee, the International Association of Paediatric Surgical Oncology and The International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) renal tumours study group. He has served as clinical lead of the department of paediatric surgery at St Georges University Hospital NHS Trust and training programme director at St Georges Hospital. Mr Okoye is widely published in Paediatric Surgical Literature and maintains an active interest in medical education.
